IEC Import and Export Code
IEC Import Export Code
An Import Export Code (IEC) is a unique 10-digit code that is mandatory for any business entity that intends to engage in import or export activities in India. This code, issued by the Director-General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Ministry of Commerce, serves as a business identification number and remains valid indefinitely.
An IEC is an essential requirement for any business venturing into international trade. It not only serves as a license but also enhances a company’s credibility and facilitates access to trade benefits and finance. IAS Tax Zone’s expertise in IEC registration can simplify the process and help businesses achieve their export-import goals.
